Happy New Year - 1/1/09

Dear SOJAA Members,
Well, here we are at the beginning of a new year and who knows what the coming months will bring; reminds me of the saying about living in interesting times. As for SOJAA, there are a couple things we are doing that you may be aware of but deserve repeating and are intended to help keep the organization active and healthy.
Alpacamania has long been the most visible SOJAA activity and its continuing success is very important. Stall panels are a key to having the show. The Board recently learned of an opportunity to acquire the panels and trailer and with the approval of the membership has proceeded with their purchase. This will guarantee that SOJAA has the panels needed for future shows.
Also, with membership approval last year, we now have a new and improved website. Among other things, this is intended to increase SOJAA exposure to the alpaca world and provide a place to exhibit the many fine animals, products and services offered by SOJAA members. Please take the opportunity to spend time entering your farm information! In addition, minutes of board meetings and other related information will be there for SOJAA members' benefit.
I feel confident that the board will continue to look for ways to assure that Alpaca ranches have good reason to become and remain SOJAA members.
